Performed Subcontracts Manager duties and responsibilities within Constellation Energy Supply Chain organization to support CENG Fleet (CCNPP, NMP, R.E. Ginna nuclear sites) project management commercial performance requirements for NFPA 805 Transition project.  Included all commercial subcontract performance tracking and reporting to Project Director, Project Managers and site specific stakeholders. Participated in weekly P6 schedule update meetings (multiple sites), and reviewed schedules to extract milestone deliverables and track completed tasks and activities.  Provided key support to project team managing all related engineering services and staff augmentation commercial requirements and closed out remaining contract deliverables for the NFPA 805 Transition project required to successfully submit License Amendment Requests to the USNRC for three fleet operating sites.

Developed & implemented an applied EPU (TPO, MELLLA+, et al) AES Project risk management process for Project Directors’ and Project Managers’ current and future customer project application (Entergy, CENG, DTE, Exelon, Progress Energy, etc.). Concurrently provided ongoing project management support with procurement of engineering services for BWR customers globally.

 

Performed supply chain development and long lead equipment procurement to support major modifications exceeding $140M for a Nuclear Plant Extended Power Uprate (EPU), encompassing two Refueling Outages (2009, 2011) for Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (MNGP).  Created procurement workflow process steps and supply chain oversight for all Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment procurement using Oracle ERP and applicable Engineering Operating Procedures (EOP), Common Procedures (CP), Quality requirements and Quality Information Systems (QIS).  Additional responsibilities included contract administration, scope and project changes to meet project cost and schedule requirements.  Regular interface with GEH Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Project Management teams, contract A/E firm (Shaw Group) and customer to successfully procure & deliver over $20M of major capital BOP equipment and engineering services.

Responsibilities included supplier management, strategy development and implementation for chemicals (silicon tetrachloride, germanium tetrachloride, OMCTS), process materials (quartz glass products) and process equipment (laminar & mass flow control, curing systems, fiber measurement),  used in the manufacture of optical fiber at five worldwide manufacturing locations (UK, Germany, Australia) plus R&D facility (Corning, NY area).

 

Significant accomplishments

§    Led dual sourcing activity introducing a second silicon tetrachloride supplier to N.A. via multi-year contract resulting in over $700K annual cost reduction.

§    Negotiated and implemented 3-year worldwide Quartz supply agreement  (5 operating locations) resulting in approx. $2.5M savings over the contract period and led dual sourcing activity introducing a second supplier for capital intensive custom quartz muffle tubes resulting in a savings of over $450K annually.

§    Led other procurement management projects & initiatives resulting in additional savings of over $1.5M.

§    Led Supplier Assessment Processes and Activities for all assigned commodity areas.

§    Led & established Procurement readiness of Corning Optical Fiber business for TL9000 audits & registration.

·               At TMMNA, Inc. responsibilities increased to implementing and managing of Raw Materials Purchasing program, annual price negotiation and Annual Purchasing Policy and new vehicle preparation and production activities for all of Toyota’s North American Manufacturing Companies (TMMK, TMMI, NUMMI, TABC, TMMC, TMMI, TMMWV, Bodine Aluminum, CAPTIN).  Commodities included approx. $250M annually sheet steel, over $60M annually aluminum and approx. $20M annually of direct production chemicals, fluids, lubricants.

§       Led annual negotiations for steel (Toyota’s most strategic primary raw material) to achieve over $4M in

  cost reduction for two consecutive years.

§       Led a purchasing project team  to benchmark & reengineer a Centralized Purchasing program for  multi-tier

  steel supply to accommodate increased procurement volume from $50M to $100M annually.

§       Successfully coordinated new vehicle production readiness and Start of Production activities for major and

   minor vehicle model changes (including Camry, Avalon, Sienna Solara and Tundra pick-up).
